FHS Theater Company to present “Rebel Without a Cause”
The next Fremont High School Theater spring production, “Rebel Without a Cause,” offers entertainment, tragedy, and an understanding of what teenagers today are still feeling.
Based on the book written in 1944 by Dr. Robert Lindner, in 1955 it was turned into the classic film starring James Dean. Stewart Stern wrote the screenplay and the dramatization is by James Fuller.
The story is about a group of troubled youth trying to figure out for themselves what it means to grow up and their parents who struggle with how to help them. As the story goes, Jim won’t stay away from Judy who happens to be dating Buzz, the leader of a gang of high school toughs. When other friends, like Plato, become involved, insults are thrown and the real trouble begins.
This cast is led by a group of experienced seniors: Davis Lindsay as Jim, Mark Drake as Buzz, Lizzie Paris as Judy, and Kristen O’Brien as Mrs. Davis. The rest of the cast includes Stephen Wright, Courtney Waldo, Kerrie Baker, Andrea Schaub, Alex Johnston, Matt Cummings, Zach Francis, Trevor Bacon, Brian Deur, Kristy Preble, Tanya Pell, Heather Warfield, Emily Zahrt, Josh Welch, Katie Hanna, Cassie Murphy, Katie Kallenbach, Chelsea Eglington, Sara Smith, Sarah Paris and Dana Dougan.
“Rebel Without A Cause” will be presented on May 8, 9 and 10 at the Dogwood Center.
The play will complete the FHS Theater company’s 32nd season.
