The Fremont High School varsity boys soccer team has started the 2008 season with plenty of success.
In the first match at Fremont's new soccer facility on Aug. 19, the Packers tied with Shelby.
On Aug. 20 against Hart, the Packers achieved a 5-0 victory with Dylan Graves in the net.
In an Aug. 23 tournament, Fremont lost to Cedar Springs by 4-0 but came back with a 3-2 victory over Kenowa Hills.
The Packers then welcomed North Muskegon to Fremont on Aug. 28. The young Packers were out-shot by 11-8, but won the 1-0 victory after Reed Luchies got a throw-in from Eric Twigg, made a few cutbacks and eventually put it in.
On Sept. 4, Fremont beat Big Rapids by 1-0 in another nail-biting game. Luchies scored the lone goal for Fremont on a penalty kick with 18 minutes left in the match.
Fremont is now 5-1-1 overall.
