Boys Varsity Basketball - 2/19/2008 Ludington
Fremont 76 Ludington 37
Fremont’s second half of the season has been a little better than the first and the Packers did not hold back, letting the Orioles understand why they are the Lakes 8 champions this year. Fremont sealed up the conference championship last week and went crazy on the road in their trip north. Fremont led early and never relinquished it after building a 17-6 first quarter lead. The Packers answered the defensive first quarter with some quick-strike offense in the second and third quarters to extend the lead to 61-25 at the end of three. Jeremy Gerth netted four from downtown toward a game-high 19 points and five steals. Zach Derks added 16 points and Sean Hendon tossed in 13 points. Cody Tubergen was the floor leader for Fremont and handed out eight assists to keep the Packers’ Lakes 8 record unblemished.
