Boys Track - 4/3/2008 Rocket Invitational @ Reeths-Puffer
6th Place
The boys placed 6th at the Rocket Invitational on Thursday at Reeths-Puffer. We had some solid early season performances.
The relay team of James Lanciaux, Andy Zahrt, Erik Westbrook and Mike Morgan won a hard fought 3200 relay in 8:24. It was a great race to watch as it was a 3 team battle the whole way with many lead changes.
It was nice to see all the boys race smart in their first outing of the year.
Jason Smith had a good first meet placing 3rd in the Pole Vault at 10'6" adjusting to a new pole.
James Lanciaux won the 3200 run by breaking the race open at the half mile mark.
Big suprises for the meet were; freshman Jake Featherstone cracking out a 5:02 mile to place 6th, and Sophomore Alec Beattie running a 56 second relay split in his first ever 400.
It was a fun first meet to give us an idea of where we are at. We now have a week off before our next meet on Tuesday the 15th.
