Recommendations

Moving the District into the 21st Century for the purpose of enabling students with 21st Century skills, the Technology Committee recommends the following:
- Core Technology skills and skill building should compress to the lowest grade level possible
- The district should move toward being wireless
- The district should move toward being paperless
- School curriculum and instruction and software should be accessible 24/7
- Movement in the direction of virtual schooling should be made
- “Classrooms of the future” should be developed in each building with the goal of all classrooms being classrooms of the future
- Skills that need to be included in the 21st learning set include:
- The world-wide web will be the transfer medium of information
- Utilizing flash drives, x-drives, and other memory devices will be the norm (IPods, MP3’s, etc.)
- Video graphics manipulation
- Web design
- Virtual learning
- On-line classes
- Manipulation of images (digital)
- One-to-one computing for all students is an eventual goal
