Strategic planning groups helping to set the course for Fremont schools
Fremont Public School teachers, administrators, staff, students, parents and community members have been wrestling with the question: “How do we prepare students to be ‘world ready’?”
That question and others have been the focus of a Fremont Public Schools strategic planning process, “Strategies for Student Success/S³.”
“In all, we received more than 100 responses to such key topics as the district’s strengths, areas the district can improve upon, critical issues FPS will face in the next five to 10 years, 21st century skills and needed preparation for students to be ‘world ready’,” said school Superintendent John Kingsnorth.
Surveys have provided information which will be used to build the strategic plan. Community members have already volunteered to lead four focus groups, taking an in-depth look at: preparing students for success in the 21st Century, parent and community engagement, facilities and technology.
People who are interested in participating in one of the above groups or would like to share their thoughts and ideas are invited to contact Superintendent Kingsnorth at 924-8261 or via e-mail at jkingsnorth@fremont.net. The strategic planning group can also be contacted at S3@fremont.net.
